If something goes down – something apocalyptic, or an invasion – we'll try to mention it here. So far, we've only had to list some issues of interest or minor urgency in Nanaimo. Examples include bans on burning, boil water advisories, etc. I also make a note of it when the northern lights are in the neighbourhood. Please contact us if you have anything to report!

Anyone know what that weird siren was?
On Friday night I heard a prolonged siren somewhere in downtown or nearabouts; it lasted several minutes, and sounded like an air-raid warning or something. Would love some information.
